From Candle to Candy Jar {Fun with Vinyl: Part One}

My favorite candle scent would have to be Orange Chiffon Bliss from Eclipse Candle Company.  It smells absolutely amazing and I never seem to get tired of it.   I have quite a few of these candle jars left over, so I thought it would be a great idea to make at least one of them into a candy jar.
I started off with cleaning out my jar, which was super easy.  I had so little candle left, that all I needed was some hot water to dislodge the rest.  I soaked the jar for a short time to remove the label.  I then took some black adhesive vinyl and used a Fiskars shape cutting tool and template to cut out my label.
 You could just as easily trace your pattern onto the vinyl and cut it out with scissors or use a craft cutting machine as well.  For me, just cutting one of these labels out with the shape cutter was a lot quicker than setting up my Craft Robo cutter.
 Once I was done with that, I peeled my vinyl from the backing and applied it to the jar.  I then wrote on the label with a bistro chalk marker. You can also use chalk or even a dry erase marker (if your background isn't black).
 And there you have it!
 Here is another vinyl and jar project.  It's just an apothecary jar dressed up with a silhouette of a witch that I found off Clker.com.
